Special Programs - Rock Climbing

Rock climbing in Europe is certainly the dream of many offering an abundance of incredible climbing venues. 
This program is a fantastic way to discover some beautiful areas of France, Italy and Switzerland and improve your climbing skills at the same time. 
With an incredible choice of routes, levels of difficulty and different rocks, this program provides you will all the essential ingredients for perfect learning conditions. You will quickly obtain confidence and push your limits to new heights. Through proven teaching methods, your rock climbing skills are guaranteed to improve.

Focus : learn the skills of rock craft and important steps in becoming self sufficient.

  • develop good footwork a key to successful climbing
  • learn new belaying techniques
  • learn rope craft, knots, rappelling
  • rescue techniques
  • overcome your fear of falling, push your letter grade higher
  • learn to lead climb
  • climb multi-pitch routes

The program will begin and finish in Geneva, Switzerland which allows for easy air transfers as well as it's central location. This 7 day climbing course will cover all the important aspects of rope craft and also belaying, rappelling and safe climbing techniques. A very important part of the program focuses on hands on teaching aimed at boosting your confidence while allowing you to climb to your full potential.The climbing venues vary from year to year but always include several internationally acclaimed areas offering a large variety of types of climbing. There will also be adequate time for some side sightseeing and visits, since many of the climbing areas are in some of the most beautiful parts of France. You will have time for additional leisure activities such as swimming, walking or your morning run

.Equipment : All you need to bring is your individual gear – harness, rock shoes, belaying device, helmet, small day pack and of course clothing suitable for climbing. The weather is usually very warm but can also be cool, so a variety of different layers would be best. All the group equipment is provided – i.e. ropes, slings, ‘biners, draws, etc. Feel free to bring your own personal gear if you are more comfortable climbing with it

.Lodging : Consists of hotels and bed & breakfasts based on double occupancy. European hospitality is wonderful. These folks know how to live. Breakfast and dinner are included. Lunch is usually a sandwich / picnic eaten at the crag.

Transportation :  I provide for transportation during the entire course.
